BJJ Academies in Mexico.

Mexico's BJJ scene maps to two strong currents: the AJP Tour brings world-tour-level competition to Mexico City, Cancún, and Mérida every year, and the U.S. border / UFC pipeline runs through Tijuana. The Federación Mexicana de Jiu Jitsu (FMJJ) handles JJIF disciplines nationally; BJJ-specific competition runs through IBJJF and AJP separately.

Mexico City is the federation hub. Renzo Gracie México sits at Galileo 361 in Polanco under head instructor Mario Delgado. Top Brother México is at Campeche 246 in Colonia Condesa. Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Guadalajara is at Calle Manuel López Cotilla 1905 in Americana. Gracie Barra Monterrey is at Av. Lázaro Cárdenas 2264, Local 306, Valle Oriente, San Pedro Garza García.

The U.S.-border story runs through Entram Gym in Tijuana, founded by Raúl Arvizu (BJJ black belt under Dean Lister). Entram is the longtime home of UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno, who earned his BJJ black belt under Arvizu in 2021.

The competition calendar is busy. The AJP Tour Mexico City International Championship is set for April 18, 2026 at Deportivo José María Morelos y Pavón, with the AJP Tour Mexico National Championship on October 3, 2026 at Plan Sexenal. AJP also runs annual Cancún and Mérida stops. Cancún and the Riviera Maya have a steady BJJ-tourism layer, with regular training camps including the Carlos Lemos Jr.–led Gracie Barra Experience Camp.
