Western Australia's BJJ scene runs through AFBJJWA — the Australian Federation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Western Australia chapter, headquartered at Shop 5, 91 Wanneroo Rd in Greenwood, Perth. The federation runs the WA State Championship circuit (gi and no-gi), feeding AFBJJ's national points pool. Perth has also hosted ADCC Australia events at Craigie Leisure Centre (2023, 2024).

Perth — the country's most isolated major city — anchors the state. Bravos BJJ has taken 1st place team in Adult Gi and No-Gi at recent WA State Championships, plus 2nd place Masters Gi. Jean Jacques Machado BJJ Perth runs out of Greenwood. Legion 13 Perth Hills has medalled in both kids' and adult divisions at the 2023 state titles. Local promotions feeding the AFBJJWA circuit include SGT Tournaments and the Australasian Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championship.
