Brazil

BJJ Academies in Bahia.

Bahia is one of Brazil's culturally distinct BJJ states — home to Salvador, the country's third-largest city and the cultural cradle of Afro-Brazilian heritage (capoeira was inscribed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014).

The Federação de Jiu-Jitsu da Bahia (FJJBAHIA) is the state's main BJJ federation, running the Bahia BJJ Pro circuit (gi and no-gi) with multi-stage etapas across Pojuca and Ilhéus, plus the Campeonato Baiano. A second body, the Federação Baiana de Jiu Jitsu e MMA (FBJJMMA), provides parallel coverage in the state. Salvador hosts the bulk of the state's BJJ rooms and the FJJBAHIA's competition surface; the federation invites athletes from Bahia and neighboring northeast states to its annual ranking circuit.
