BJJ Academies in Georgia.
Georgia is the U.S. headquarters of Alliance Jiu-Jitsu — one of the sport's most decorated teams, founded in 1993 by Romero "Jacaré" Cavalcanti, Fabio Gurgel, and Alexandre "Gigi" Paiva (all Rolls Gracie black belts).
Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Atlanta sits at 5290 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, opened in 1997 after Romero Cavalcanti relocated from Brazil. Cavalcanti is one of only six people to have received a black belt directly from the legendary Rolls Gracie. The academy is taught by Grandmaster Cavalcanti himself alongside multiple-time IBJJF World Champion Leo Nogueira.
The Alliance team's American HQ has produced and hosted a long list of world-class competitors, and the team's Sandy Springs base anchors the entire Atlanta-area BJJ scene.
