Washington's BJJ scene runs primarily out of the Seattle/Tacoma metro.

In Seattle, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Seattle (4457 36th Ave SW) is the only academy in the city authorized by Gracie University to teach the Gracie Combatives, Women Empowered, and Bullyproof self-defense programs. Gracie Barra Seattle anchors the Gracie Barra presence in the city. Seattle Jiu-Jitsu Academy traces its black belt lineage through Kano and the Gracie family. Marcelo Alonso BJJ runs as one of the largest BJJ networks in the state, with multiple Pacific Northwest locations.

Gracie Barra has additional Washington locations in Tacoma, Renton, and Marysville. Alliance BJJ Washington runs locations in Lacey and Lakewood (south of Tacoma).
