Brussels is Belgium's BJJ hub and federation surface. The Belgian Jiu-Jitsu League maintains the country's accredited-academy roster, with the deepest cluster of rooms operating in and around the capital.

Brussels Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy (BBJJA) has been operating in the city since 2000 — among the country's longest-running BJJ academies. Aorta BJJ was founded in 2018 and is led by Professor Axel Vankimmenade — a BJJ black belt under Bruno Pedras. Icon BJJ runs out of Uccle/Ixelles. RISE Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Belgium operates two locations south of Brussels in Halle and Braine l'Alleud, under black belt Philip Candries.
