Lombardy — the Italian region containing Milan — is one of the country's two main BJJ regions (alongside Lazio/Rome).

Milan's anchor is Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Milano, described on its site as the only Italian academy certified by the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association. L'Accademia is another Milan-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and functional training school. Beyond Milan, Lombardy hosts a steady cluster of regional BJJ rooms feeding into the national circuit run by Unione Italiana Jiu Jitsu (UIJJ) and BJJ ITALIA (the BJJ sector of CONI/ASC).
