Most people think Thailand and assume Phuket (Tiger Muay Thai and the rest of the island fight-tourism circuit), but Bangkok has its own scene that's worth a stop, especially if you're already in Southeast Asia and want to mix in some city training.

Practical tips: gyms are universally air-conditioned (you'll need it — Bangkok heat is no joke), and English is the working language at the foreigner-friendly rooms. Drop-in pricing varies — ask the academy directly. Best months: November–February (cool season). March–May is brutal; June–October is the rainy season. Bring an extra rashguard — humidity will leave anything you wear soaked.
